When Lotus Alfred writes a poem exploring her notions of peace, her brother finds it and teases her. To Lotus, the teasing feels more like humiliation and she runs off to the beach. Her odyssey begins when a giant pelican swoops down and whisks her away to an enchanted island. Here the animals all talk and they tell Lotus that they are expecting her to bring peace to their land. Lotus is not convinced that she is the right person for this daunting mission, but she finds a magical pearl that reveals her innate wisdom. After a series of challenges Lotus finally finds the peace that she and the animals are seeking.

Libby Pink

Libby Pink was born in a small town called Shoreham-by-sea in England. Ever since then she has wandered the inner and outer worlds. Maybe it was because she grew up by the ocean that she has such a special connection with it. She also loves walking in other beautiful places, especially redwood forests and mountains that reach down into the ocean. It is in these magical places that she receives inspiration and the answers to life’s many questions.

Lotus and the Golden Pearl is Libby’s first book.
